An air cushion cylinder boring machine is used to open and resize cylinder holes in engine blocks with maximum precision. The air cushion system eliminates vibrations during boring, ensuring perfect finish. It's essential for rebuilding engines with oval, scratched or out-of-spec cylinders, allowing installation of new sleeves or displacement increases. Works with blocks of different sizes and engine types.

The BCP-1000 Chinelatto works with cylinders from 2.6 to 5.1 inches (66 to 130mm) diameter, maximum depth of 13.2 inches (335mm) and blocks up to 39.4 inches (1,000mm) length. Features 0.75hp motor with two speeds (265-380 rpm) and feed rate of 1.1-1.5 IPM (27-38 mm/min). Operates with minimum 101 PSI (7 bar) compressed air and 220V three-phase. Weighs approximately 2,117 lb (960kg) net and includes tools, supports, measuring devices and manual lubrication system.

With the BCP-1000 you can bore practically all car, pickup truck and some light truck engines, as it works with cylinders from 2.6 to 5.1 inches (66 to 130mm). Handles 4, 6 and 8-cylinder engines from domestic and imported brands: Volkswagen, Fiat, GM, Ford, Honda, Toyota and others. Maximum length of 39.4 inches (1,000mm) allows working even with V8 blocks. Not suitable for very small engines (motorcycles) or very large ones (heavy trucks, tractors).

The pneumatic boring machine like the BCP-1000 uses air cushion to move the tool spindle, eliminating vibrations and ensuring greater precision in finish. Regular boring machines use mechanical systems that can generate micro-vibrations. The result is rounder and smoother cylinders, especially important in modern engines with tight tolerances. Additionally, the pneumatic system allows better cutting pressure control and longer tool life.

The BCP-1000's air cushion system works with 101 PSI (7 bar) compressed air that forms a pneumatic cushion around the tool spindle. This cushion absorbs vibrations and allows smooth, constant movement during boring. Compressed air also helps cool the tool and remove chips. Pneumatic control ensures uniform pressure, resulting in perfectly round cylinders without tool marks.

BCP-1000 maintenance includes regular air filter changes (included with machine), daily oil level checking of manual lubrication pump and cleaning centering pins after each use. The 0.3x1.2 inch (8x30mm) tools should be sharpened on diamond wheel when needed. Periodically check pneumatic pressure and air system leaks. With proper use and correct maintenance, the Chinelatto machine has service life exceeding 15 years.
