BR-90 Motorcycle Cylinder Honing Machine 1.6-4.3IN

The cylinder honing machine is used to provide the final internal finish on motorcycle cylinders after boring. Honing creates the ideal crosshatch pattern for oil retention and piston ring seating. The BR-90 hones motorcycle cylinders with diameters from Ø1.6 to 4.25 inches (Ø41 to 108mm), covering small to medium engines. It has 11.8 inches (300mm) stroke and comes with two honing tools included, plus the refrigeration system necessary for the process.

The BR-90 Cylinder Honing Machine from Chinelatto works with cylinders from Ø1.6 inches to Ø4.25 inches (Ø41mm to Ø108mm) diameter. It comes with two honing tools included: one for smaller cylinders from Ø1.6 to 2.6 inches (Ø41 to 67mm) and another for larger cylinders from Ø2.7 to 4.25 inches (Ø68 to 108mm). Maximum stroke is 11.8 inches (300mm), sufficient for most motorcycle cylinders. It has 0.75hp motor with two different rotations (210 and 430rpm) and refrigeration system with reservoir and flexible nozzle.

The BR-90 works for honing motorcycle cylinders with diameters between Ø1.6 to 4.25 inches (Ø41 to 108mm), which includes from small 125cc engines to medium 600-750cc engines approximately. It accepts cylinders from trail, street, custom and sport motorcycles within that diameter range. The 11.8 inches (300mm) stroke allows working with cylinders of varying height. It's ideal for shops servicing domestic and imported motorcycles, covering good portion of the street bike market.

The boring machine increases cylinder diameter by removing material, while the BR-90 honing machine provides final finish without removing practically any material. Boring comes first to adjust size and remove scratches, then honing creates the crosshatch pattern for oil retention. The boring machine uses cutting tools, while the honing machine uses abrasive stones in oscillatory motion. They are complementary processes: bore first for size, hone after for finish and ideal ring texture.

Honing works with abrasive stones rotating and oscillating inside the cylinder simultaneously. The BR-90 has rotations of 210 to 430rpm combined with back-and-forth movement in the 11.8 inches (300mm) stroke. The stones make light contact with the wall, creating crosshatched scratches at 45-60 degree angles. The coolant removes chips and lubricates. This dual movement forms the ideal texture for oil retention and perfect piston ring seating.

BR-90 maintenance includes regular replacement of honing tool stones as they wear, cleaning the refrigeration system and changing the fluid. Stones are optional accessories available from Chinelatto. Check honing tool alignment, lubricate moving parts and keep the 0.75hp electric motor clean. The machine comes with warranty and technical support. Extra stones and felts are sold separately. Perform periodic inspection according to shop usage to maintain honing precision.
