The limitation is in the physical size of the crankshaft - if it fits in the adjustable opening and the weight doesn't exceed the machine's capacity, it can be balanced with precision.

The static balancer, like the BV, identifies imbalance with the stationary part using dial indicator - it's simpler, economical and sufficient for most motorcycle crankshafts. The dynamic balancer spins the part at high rotation, detecting imbalances that only appear in movement. For shops working mainly with motorcycles and small engines, the static BV balancer offers adequate precision with lower cost and simpler maintenance.

The process on the BV Balancer starts by fixing the crankshaft in the adjustable opening between the supports. The dial indicator detects high and low points while you manually rotate the part. High points indicate where there's excess material (weight). You then remove material by machining or filing at those locations until the dial shows minimal variation. Repeat the process until achieving acceptable tolerance, eliminating engine vibrations.

The BV maintenance is simple: regular cleaning of supports and guides, lubrication of opening adjustment points, verification of dial indicator calibration and rust protection. Keep supports always clean and scratch-free to avoid marking the journals. The dial indicator should be protected against impacts and periodically verified with known standard. With basic care, the equipment lasts many years maintaining precision.
