Flywheel and Clutch Disc Grinder RMG-460X Chinelatto

The flywheel and disc grinder is used to correct warping, scratches and irregularities on the motor flywheel surface and clutch discs. With the rotating table, you can grind these parts uniformly, eliminating vibrations and ensuring perfect clutch coupling. The RMG-460X Chinelatto handles flywheels up to 19.7 inches (Ø500mm) diameter, covering most light and medium vehicles that come into the machine shop.

The RMG-460X has capacity to grind flywheels up to 19.7 inches (Ø500mm) diameter. The rotating table is 18.1 inches (Ø460mm), but due to the machine geometry you can work with larger parts. The 7.5hp motor ensures sufficient power even for large flywheels from pickup trucks and commercial vehicles. Maximum distance between table and grinding wheel is 8.5 inches (215mm), allowing work with flywheels of different thicknesses.

With capacity up to 19.7 inches (Ø500mm), this grinder accepts flywheels from compact car engines, sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks and light commercial vehicles. It works with flex fuel, diesel, gasoline engines - what matters is the flywheel size. For clutch discs, it works with conventional systems from light and medium vehicles. The dual speed (16-32 RPM) allows adjustment according to material and desired finish.

The rotating table grinder offers much more precision and finish quality. With fixed table, you need to rotate the flywheel manually, creating irregularities. With the RMG-460X motorized rotating table, the flywheel spins constantly and controlled at 16 or 32 RPM speeds, ensuring uniform surface. The grinding wheel works always at the same angle, eliminating marks and waviness that appear in the manual process.

First you secure the flywheel on the rotating table using the centering cone and base washer that come with the machine. Turn on the table motor (1.5hp) at chosen speed and the grinding head (7.5hp) at 3,500 RPM. The grinding wheel removes material from the surface as you manually approach. The cooling system lubricates and removes chips. The RMG-460X allows precise depth control, ensuring smooth and parallel surface.

The grinding wheel duration depends on service quantity and material type. In normal machine shop use, a 5" wheel lasts several months. The RMG-460X comes with grinding wheel, tightening wrenches and locking pin included. Basic maintenance includes daily cleaning, cooling fluid change and bearing lubrication. The robust 1,124 lb (510kg) structure ensures stability and long service life with proper preventive maintenance.
